Translation Services Terms and Conditions
1. Definitions
- Client: The individual or organization requesting translation services.
- Provider: The translation service provider (your company’s name).
- Source Material: The original document(s) provided by the client for translation.
- Translated Material: The final translated version of the source material provided by the provider.
2. Scope of Service
- The provider agrees to deliver translation services based on the source material provided by the client.
- Translations will be done accurately and to the best of the provider’s ability, keeping the meaning of the original text intact. However, nuances may vary due to linguistic differences.
- The client must specify the desired language pair (source language and target language), as well as any specific formatting or terminology preferences.
3. Turnaround Time
- The provider will deliver the translated material by the deadline agreed upon at the time of order confirmation.
- Turnaround times depend on the complexity, length, and nature of the source material. The provider may request an extension for complex documents or larger projects.
4. Pricing and Payment Terms
- Prices are based on the word count of the source material, language pair, and level of specialization (e.g., technical, legal, medical).
- Payment is due either:
- Prepay before translating.
- 50% deposit upfront and the balance upon delivery.
- Unless otherwise agreed, all payments must be made within 30 days of the invoice date.
- Late payments may incur a 5% penalty fee per month.
5. Revisions
- The client can request one free revision of the translated material to correct errors or inaccuracies.
- Additional revisions or changes that deviate from the source material may be subject to additional charges.
6. Confidentiality
- The provider agrees to treat all source materials as confidential and will not disclose any information to third parties without the client’s consent.
- All translation projects are handled securely, and the provider takes all necessary steps to protect sensitive information.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
- Upon full payment, the client retains all intellectual property rights to the translated material.
- The provider retains the intellectual property rights to any original processes, tools, or methodologies used to complete the translation.
8. Liability
- The provider is not liable for any damages, losses, or legal claims arising from using the translated material.
- The provider is not responsible for any consequences due to incorrect usage of technical or specialized translations unless the errors are due to negligence.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
- The client may cancel the order within 24 hours of confirmation without penalty.
- If the translation process has already begun, the client will be charged for the portion of the work completed at the time of cancellation.
- Refunds are provided only in cases where the provider cannot deliver the translation as agreed upon in the initial order confirmation.
10. Force Majeure
- The provider is not liable for delays or failure to perform translation services due to events beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, wars, or technological failures.
11. Dispute Resolution
