How to Verify Your Domain
Purpose
Domain verification proves that you own or manage your domain name. This step is commonly required when setting up services such as:
- Microsoft 365 Email
- Google Workspace
- Email marketing platforms
- Website tools
- SSL/security services
- Domain-related business accounts
How to Verify Your Domain
Step 1: Log in to Your Domain Account
Log in to the company where your domain name is registered.
Go to:
Then log in to your customer account.
After logging in, go to the section for:
Domains / My Domains / Domain Management
Select the domain name you want to verify, then look for:
DNS Management or Manage DNS
From there, you can add the verification record provided by the service, usually a TXT record.
Step 2: Find the Verification Record
The service you are setting up will provide a verification record.
Most commonly, it will be a TXT record.
Example:

Step 3: Add the TXT Record to DNS
Inside your domain DNS settings:
- Choose Add New Record
- Select TXT as the record type
- Enter the Name / Host
- Usually: @
- Sometimes: your domain name
- Enter the Name / Host
- Enter the TXT Value
- Copy and paste the exact value provided
- Enter the TXT Value
- Save the record
Important: Do not change or delete existing DNS records unless instructed. Incorrect DNS changes may affect your website or email service.
Step 4: Wait for DNS Update
DNS changes may take time to update.
Typical waiting time:
- Sometimes: 5–30 minutes
- Commonly: 1–2 hours
- In some cases: up to 24–48 hours
Step 5: Click “Verify”
Return to the service that requested domain verification.
Click:
- Verify
- Check Verification
- Confirm Domain
- or similar button
If the record has updated successfully, the domain will be verified.
If Verification Fails
Please check the following:
| Issue | What to Check |
| Wrong record type | Make sure the record type is TXT |
| Wrong host/name | Try @ if the provider asks for root domain |
| Extra spaces | Copy and paste carefully |
| DNS not updated yet | Wait and try again later |
| Wrong DNS provider | The domain may be using DNS somewhere else, such as Cloudflare |
| Existing conflicting record | Do not delete unless confirmed by your IT provider |
